Dry Lake Cerknica – Rešeto

I observe Cerkniško polje from the air in every season, on average about 50 times a year, but I simply cannot take good photographs from a paraglider. I have no time, not enough free hands and cannot go exactly where I would like. So I return by land for the photographs.

This time the subject was the Rešeto sinkholes during a period of drought. Sunny to partly cloudy weather around sunset and the golden hour gave me beautiful light.

When you arrive at Rešeto during a drought, it feels as though you have landed on Mars. Not all the fish in the lake were spared, but fishermen moved some of them by hand to an artificially dammed lake on the other side of the channel.
